Electric distribution utility has immediate opening for a Line Technician
Perform electrical power line construction and maintenance. Operate construction and service equipment such as bucket, digger, trencher, etc. Troubleshoot facilities in adverse conditions.
Skills and knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma. Must be able to obtain Class A Commercial Driver’s License within six months of hire. Must submit a copy of 10-year DMV driving record with application. Must live within Pee Dee Electric Cooperative’s service territory or be willing to move within one year from date of hire.
Member Service Representative
Electric distribution utility has immediate opening for a Member Service Representative
Provides customer service to all member-owners who contact the Cooperative in person or by telephone with requests for new services, account changes, disconnects, billing/payment information, and programs offered by the Cooperative. Receives payments over the counter, from drive-thru, and depositories. Reconciles daily cash/check and payment stub totals. Balances cash drawer. Maintains filing and scanning of records in document imaging system. Assists with the preparation of reports, projects, and clerical duties for the Member Service Department.
Skills and knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma. Minimum of 18 months progressive experience in related position. Attention to detail and good oral communication skills required. Must be able to use office equipment such as computer, keyboard, copier, printer, fax machine, etc. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Windows/Microsoft Office. Valid S. C. Driver’s License required.
Electric distribution utility has immediate opening for an entry-level Electrical Engineer
Assure that the electrical facilities are constructed, maintained, and operated to RUS standards and code requirements in accordance with sound engineering design. Complete long and short range plans and programs for the orderly development of distribution and substation facilities. Perform coordination studies to ensure the reliability of the electrical system. Prepare construction contracts, loan applications including work plan, financial forecast, power requirement study, and other related documents. Assist in maintaining hardware for SCADA and Load Management systems. Monitor construction projects to assure compliance with NEC, NESC, RUS and cooperative requirements.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university. Requires analyzing data and reports and conducting research. Skills in developing plans, procedures, and goals required. Preference will be given to candidates who are on track to become licensed as a PE.
