Members marked 80 years of service by Pee Dee Electric Cooperative at their October 24 annual meeting. The co-op registered 2,236 members for the meeting, where they re-elected Don Teal and Robert Norton to the board of trustees.
To mark the occasion, CEO Mike Fuller, pictured, introduced a video, “Telling Our Story for 80 Years.” In addition to reminding members that they had received capital credit refund checks totaling $3.2 million, Fuller also announced an additional $1.5 million in refunds that would be included on members’ December bills. Members were treated to a video review of the co-op’s community involvement that is significantly funded through the Operation Round Up program.
Members approved bylaws changes made necessary by the new governance law, but they rejected single voting member districts.
