Many in Darlington County lost power early Monday morning after a strong wind and rain storm swept through the Pee Dee overnight. A fallen tree limb here on Stadium Road in front of Kellytown Stadium was the cause of outages for residents nearby. Pee Dee Electric Cooperative reported 1,000 without power Monday morning, with the majority in Darlington and Hartsville.
Nearby neighbors, each parked six feet apart for social distancing were among those who lost power after a strong storm overnight. Without electricity and the shutdowns due to COVID-19, folks said there wasn’t much else to do so they gathered to watch Pee Dee Electric Cooperative crews repair lines.
