We’re still here for you
The first week of March was considered the last normal workweek for most parts of the country. Large sections of public life came to a standstill as COVID-19 spread across the United States. We found ourselves in a strange unprecedented time.
At PDEC, our priority was to continue to deliver affordable, reliable power while protecting the health of both PDEC employees and members. So now, here we are in this “in-between” time, considering the best ways to move forward and how to get back to “normal”. During the State of Emergency, PDEC temporarily suspended disconnection of service for non-payment. This is one of the steps we took to reduce stress and support members who might be facing financial hardships due to a reduction in employment. As always, we’re here to help. If you have been negatively affected due to COVID-19 and need extra time to pay your bill, please call one of our member service representatives.
Members with past due accounts who do not make payment arrangements will be subject to disconnection. We want to help our members and communities get back on their feet as quickly and smoothly as possible.
Members who are facing unusual hardships may apply for an “Operation Round Up” donation. This program has been in existence since 1991 and more than $3 million has been distributed to needy organizations and individuals throughout our communities. For more information and an application, visit https://www.pdec.com/our-community/operation-round-up/ .
As I said last month, let’s remember to shop local. It is so important to support our communities and local businesses in the Pee Dee, who have felt this crisis the most. Pee Dee Electric remains committed to the members and communities we serve.
